Microgaming Raises £210,000 through its Gift of Giving Campaign
Microgaming, one of the leading gambling software companies based in the Isle of Man has raised a total of £210,000 through its Gift of Giving campaign and its staff-led CSR initiative PlayItForward.
The seasonal voting campaign allows Microgaming operators and partners to donate to admirable causes in their region. During the developer’s 2019 campaign, the PlayItForward initiative donated £30,000 between six global charities. The charities that received the highest number of votes in each region were Save the Children in the United Kingdom, Water Aid in Africa, Foodbank Lifeline Foundation in Malta, Childline in Gibraltar and Unicef. Also, GamCare won the vote in the inaugural responsible gambling category.
Furthering the Mission
Representatives from Microgaming, which recently entered the Portuguese market, say that they are thankful to all of their customers for their generous votes and their support and that they hope these donations will help the charities with their mission.
John Coleman, CEO of Microgaming, comments: “I’d like to thank all of our customers for their generous votes and for supporting our Gift of Giving initiative for the seventh year running. Involving the wider industry in CSR is important to us at Microgaming, which is why we included the new responsible gambling category – giving back is what we are all about. Well done to the winning charities in 2019’s campaign and we hope these donations will help you to keep doing what you do best.”
GamCare is in charge of operating the National Gambling HelpLine. The HelpLine provides information, advice and support to anyone who is affected by gambling problems. The program also provides a range of outreach, education and prevention initiatives, working with young people and at-risk groups to minimize harms that are gambling related.
The Gift of Giving program has been supporting charities since its foundation in 2013.
